Former Loyola guard Milton Doyle will continue his professional basketball career in Spain next season.
Doyle signed a contract with Club Baloncesto Murcia, the team announced Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
After graduating from Loyola in 2017, Doyle signed an NBA Summer League contract with the Brooklyn Nets. In four Summer League games, he averaged 10.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
After signing an NBA G-League contract, Doyle signed a two-way contract with Brooklyn, which allowed him to split time between the NBA and the NBA G-League. In 45 games for Brooklyn’s G-League affiliate, the Long Island Nets, he averaged 20.5 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, 4.5 assists per game and 1.6 steals per game.
In 10 games for Brooklyn, Doyle averaged 3.4 points per game, 1.8 rebounds per game and 1 assist per game. He became a restricted free agent in the offseason, meaning he could field offers from other NBA teams and remain with the Nets if they matched another team’s offer.
The Nets renounced Doyle’s rights July 15, which made him an unrestricted free agent and allowed him to go to any team he chose.
Last season, Murcia went 17-17 in Liga ACB, Spain’s top basketball league, and 11-9 in the Champions League — a competition run by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
