Four Loyola men’s basketball players received All-Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) honors, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Junior center Cameron Krutwig was named first team All-MVC for the second straight year while redshirt junior guard Tate Hall received third team All-MVC and MVC All-Newcomer Team honors. First-year guard Marquise Kennedy was voted to the MVC All-Freshman Team, while junior guard Lucas Williamson was named to the MVC All-Defense Team.
The all-conference teams highlight the top players in the league and were voted on by coaches, sports information directors and members of the media — including The Phoenix.
The MVC announced its all-conference teams this morning. #Loyola pretty well-represented.

Krutwig continued to be the focal point of the Loyola offense, averaging 15.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game — a mark which ranked third in the MVC. “The Big Fella” is also a candidate for MVC Player of the Year, which is set to be announced this afternoon.
In his first season at Loyola after transferring from the University of Indianapolis, Hall started every game and averaged 13.0 points per game on 48.1 percent shooting. Kennedy, who’s in consideration for Sixth Man of the Year as the MVC’s top player off the bench, has been one of the more exciting players on the Ramblers roster. The Chicago native averaged 9.3 points per game, which ranked fourth on the Loyola roster.
Williamson played lockdown defense this season and is considered the Ramblers’ best defender. He helped force University of Northern Iowa guard AJ Green — another MVC Player of the Year candidate — to commit 14 combined turnovers in two games against the Ramblers.
Loyola, the No. 2 seed at Arch Madness, is scheduled to play its first game March 6 at 6 p.m. against the winner of No. 7-seeded Valparaiso University vs. No. 10-seeded University of Evansville.
